26 Weeks

26 weeks to me is such a landmark this pregnancy! I cannot believe that 7 weeks ago yesterday I was in Houston Texas for emergency surgery to save my daughters lives! This whole journey has been like a bluuur. At first it seemed to be going by so fast but as soon as I received the devastating news at 18 1/2 weeks that I was diagnosed with Stage III TTTS it has just slowed down dramatically! I don't think I've ever been this terrified with a pregnancy. Every day is a blessing though that my girls are still okay!! I'm praying to make it to January although December is what we are looking at for delivery. I want my girls to defeat the odds! I know they have it in them!!! They are Crouse babies and I know they are strong and fighters just like their older brother and sister!!. My personal goal in life is now to educate everyone, not just pregnant women but men, women, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents... whoever will listen!!!! If more people were educated about Twin/Twin Transfusion Syndrome we might have better odds of survival rates and better outcomes!

It is imperative to have an ultrasound done in the first trimester to determine how many babies a mother is carrying. With women who are carrying multiples it is then SO important to determine how many placentas the women has. Two Placentas is good news, One placenta is something to monitor! It is not definite that all women with multiples and one placenta will develop TTTS, however with proper care, information and education a mother who DOES develop TTTS will have a greater chance of survival rate with her sons/daughters.

December 7th is TTTS World Awareness Day and I want anyone and everyone to light a candle in remembrance of those babies who have lost their battle to TTTS and for all the women and families who are currently suffering from TTTS!

Lets fight back! I want everyone to educate themselves on this disease so that when a friend or family member finds out they are expecting multiples you know the warning signs and you know what to look for and you can educate them on TTTS!!!

WE CAN BEAT TWIN/TWIN TRANSFUSION!!! All we need is to Educate ourselves!!!!!!! I have faith in everyone!
